1 st announcement

SURFACE celebrates 2008 it‘s 20th anniversary. Therefore SURFACE invites all its users to contribute to this meeting their latest scientific results. In addition to the SURFACE user group we invite other well-known scientists working with PLD to join our meeting. It is the goal of the organizer to set up an annual two day workshop about PLD results to form a closer community in Europe.

Scope: Pulsed Laser Deposition is one of the most flexible thin film deposition technologies. Its unique advantages                have defined the research results in several material science areas over the last 25 years. Future              technologies are especially related to this process technology. PLD is on the step to find a way from the              basic research to small volume production. This meeting tries to build up a platform for all PLD users              independently of their specific scientific applications. New process developments and possibilities around              PLD will be presented and discussed.
