With its small footprint and high throughput, the NANO Indenter SA2 system is particularly attractive. The NANO Indenter SA2 system will allow you to easily and rapidly characterize material surfaces down to the level of a few nanometers. At this scale you’ll be able to learn about the critical properties of your products—characteristics such as hardness and modulus of elasticity that have tremendous influence on product performance and longevity.
The complete SA2 system is robust for long life. Its software makes testing easy and maximizes the system’s 23-bit electronics and exceptionally high data sampling rates to produce the most precise data of any instrumented nanoindentation system available.
The SA2 system is software-controlled and easy to use. It guides you in placing the indentations and establishing what tests should be performed in the positions you’ve selected. Then it will prompt you to define the maximum load or depth for the indentation for routine hardness and modulus measurements. |
MTS NANO Indenter systems are the only nanoindentation systems that allow quantitative measurements of hardness and modulus to be made during the loading cycle. With the optional patented Continuous Stiffness Measurement (CSM) technique, stiffness data is recorded along with load and displacement data dynamically, allowing hardness and Young’s modulus to be calculated at every data point acquired during the indentation. The user can even determine what frequency to use for this unique force-oscillation technique.
