10th European Symposium on Nanomechanical Testing
November 24-26, 2009
in Hückelhoven / Germany
organized in collaboration with
Program Committee
· Prof. Susan Enders / University of Nebraska / USA
· Dr. Julia Deuschle / Max-Planck-Institute Stuttgart / Germany
· Dr. Roland Schliesing / SURFACE / Germany
The Symposium follows up the annual European Symposia on nano mechanical testing held in Hückelhoven from 2000 to 2008. It is addressed to the growing European community in this field, and is focused on the theory and practice of determining mechanical properties of materials with nanoindentation and other nano/micro scale testing techniques. The symposium will be held in English.
The special focus for Nanomech 10 is:
“Time, frequency and temperature: kinetic effects in mechanical measurements”
We are delighted to announce Dr. Gheorghe Stan (NIST), Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil.Xin Jiang (University of Siegen), Dr. Michael Griepentrog (Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung / BAM) and Dr. Erik Herbert (University of Tennessee) as our confirmed invited speakers.
Other topics include:
- Polymers
- Soft matter
- Biological and biomedical materials
- Nanotribology
- Super-hard coatings
Important dates:
October 28, 2009: Registration deadline
October 28, 2009: Abstract submission deadline
November 04, 2009: Notification of acceptance of presentations
Publication:
The symposium papers will be published together in the International Journal of Materials Research.
The papers will be collected during the conference, reviewed and submitted to the Editor.
